How they tell big lies with movie trivia (3 min)

Are we being lied to about movie trivia, and are there bigger reasons for that than mere box office competition?

Additional notes

There is a level of comedy to the kind of bald-faced lies that PR experts concoct to push their various agendas, and something bizarre about how willing the industry 'participants' are... to participate.

The 'level 1' theory would be that this is all in service of selling more tickets to the 'pictures', but the people running this show of course have no need for the pieces of paper (and computer records) we call 'money'. The characters we see are in the business of mind manipulation, and it would appear that the narratives conveyed outside the movie theatre - on television and otherwise - are as important, if not more, than the cultural engineering that occurs within the film itself.

I suppose we are suckers for 'lore' and these guys know how to feed it to us in a juicy enough fashion that many of us barely notice how silly these stories are on the face of them.

I made this video a little non-specific in parts just to avoid getting too much heat form youtube, so curious to know if everything made sense to people and the points landed.

I ran out of run-time (in the 3min youtube short limit) but there are some pretty amusing nonsensical things that PR is promoting about Christopher Nolan, might have to make a video on him specifically.
